Swanquarter, North Carolina

Swanquarter is a small town in Hyde County that was settled in 18th century, by Samuel Swan.  Swan’s Quarter was the original name of the settlement, and was eventually shortened. Swanquarter now holds a population of 324, and is a national historic site.
